Pinspiration: Things to Make

It's no secret that I love Pinterest.  I only joined a few months ago, but now I've got 20 boards with 377 pins.  As a creative person, I love being able to visually organize my ideas for projects and such.  Two of my absolute favorite boards are my "Things to Make" and "Kids" boards.

Pins from these boards have inspired a lot of my recent projects, like the ironing board cover, toddler picnic table, play kitchen, modern baby shoes, and baby apron.  Here are a few of my "Things to Make" board that I have been itching to try next.
Wedding Clutch via Purlbee

Mason Jar Pendants via Poppytalk
The jar pendants are more of a jumping-off idea.  I have some glass soda bottles that I would love to turn into a lighted garland.  We're still working on the logistics of the wiring on that project.
Basic Messenger Bag via mmmcrafts
Boxy Cosmetic Bag via Skip to My Lou
Sewing Machine Cover via Notes from the Patch
As you can tell, I've got a bit of sewing ahead of me.  I'm all caught up on Etsy orders, though, so I've got some free time again.  That is, if I don't spend it all on Pinterest!

Project List Revisited

Well, I didn't get past the first round of the epic giveaway, but if you head over to Vintage Revivals you can see the top 5 and vote for your favorite.  I have to admit that I am a little bit relieved that I won't have to do a two-day decor marathon.  Also, my first thought was, "Oh good, now I don't have to wait until June to get started on the laundry room."  Which is a little exciting to me, whether or not I can get to it until June anyway.

On another note, I don't know if any of you remember this project list I made many moons ago.  Yeah, I pretty much forgot about it myself.  I thought it might be fun to check that out again and see what's still left on it.  But first, here are the things I did finish:
Not too shabby!  I also finished a couple more in just the last few days that I haven't blogged yet, so here is your first peek at these two:
  • Get chairs for the front porch (thanks for the Mother's Day present, dear husband!)
  •  Get potted plants for the driveway.  For these, we actually bought the pots on clearance at Costco last year and potted the plants ourselves this week.  I also got a couple of empty hanging baskets from my mom and planted some geraniums in them.  For now, they are sitting on the front steps until I figure out how I want to hang them.

Now for the things that are still left on the list.  Here's what you can be looking forward to next, plus a few new ones I have added.
  • Find or make a buffet for the kitchen
  • Take door off coat closet and redo inside
  • Refinish piano, plus slipcover bench
  • Make some green frames to match green stained table
  • Fix leg on green table
  • Get or build picnic table for backyard
  • Laundry room makeover
  • Crackle glaze tutorial (you won't want to miss this one!)
  • Rolltop desk refinish
  • Round table makeover
  • Frame bathroom mirrors
  • Hairclip holder
  • Bathroom art
  • Playroom/guest room organization
  • Build headboard and footboard
  • HOME TOUR!
If you can't tell, I am a little bit excited about that last one.  I just think it will be really cool to have photos of all the rooms in my house looking their best.

Bathroom Shelf

Welcome to our poor, neglected main bathroom.  Of all the rooms in our house, the main bathroom, master bathroom, hallways, and laundry room are all still basically untouched decor-wise since we moved in a little over a year ago.  No paint, no theme, no nothin'.

All we did was hang that little wall shelf over the toilet (the other jungle decor is a lucky hand-me-down from my mom), and things look a lot more lived-in already.

Here's to finishing another project that I have had on my list for a while.
  • Make fabric boxes for the new changing table (still looking for a great tutorial, will let you know when I find one!)
  • Finish fall wreath (work in progress!)
  • Paint birdcage cream or light yellow
  • Find a buffet to paint for the dining area
  • Get chairs for the front porch
  • Get potted plants for the driveway
  • Build shelves on either side of the washer and dryer
  • Take door off coat closet, paint, and put cubbies inside
  • New couch pillows
  • Install wall shelf in main bathroom
  • Refinish piano
  • Make some green frames to match green stained table
  • Fix leg on green table
  • Get or build a picnic table for the backyard
  • Sew kitchen curtain (work in progress!)
  • Sew changing pad covers
  • Make flower hairclips
  • Turn craft room into nursery
  • Laundry room makeover

I couldn't find a tutorial I liked for the fabric boxes, so I made one up if you haven't seen it yet.  Also, we painted the nursery and moved all the other stuff out of the room.  It's coming together!  I hope to get some pictures up soon.  Now we are onto the fun, decorating stage.

I am working on some wall art for the nursery, and I am getting really excited to show you!

Current Project List

Today I sat down and made a list of all the craft or interior design projects I am currently working on or have thought about doing.  I feel like I have so many things that I want to do, but I can't remember what they are when I have some extra time.  I am hoping that this will help organize my creative mind enough that I can get it done!

You'll probably be seeing some of these featured on the blog in the next few months, plus some party and food fun.  Fall is my favorite time of the year, so I love to celebrate the season.
