Today I had an awesome opportunity to do an interview with Brent Hunsaker from ABC4 News in Utah. I got to show how I do my screen printing and talk a little bit about Etsy. I was pretty nervous, but I think it went really well. It's always so interesting to meet people from the news in real life. It almost seems like you already know them. Weird.
Even though I do Etsy mostly as a hobby, it was nice to do be able to share a little bit of my creative side. Plus, in the process of getting ready for the interview, I got my craft room set up! The closet it still a mess, but I have a great creative work area.
I also made a new screen design! I am having some trouble with a new emulsion I am using, so I've blown out two screens trying to get it done. A blown-out screen means that part of the stencil that I wanted to stay got washed off, which means I have to start completely over. Once I get things worked out, I think you will be as excited as I am to see the new design. Hint: It's a completely new type of product for me.
The Etsy story should air sometime in May, but the date isn't completely set yet. My friends and neighbors Amie and Tanya will also featured. What fun!

Etsy Voter
Hey all! I've got some great news! My Scarborough Fair Wooden Blocks are in the Etsy Voter this week!
The theme for the week is gardens. This is my first feature in the Voter. I think it's because I never had an item that really fit the theme until now.
Anyway, if you have a second, an Etsy account, and you want to help, then pop on over to the Voter and vote for the Scarborough Fair Garden Blocks by audzipan!
Really, it would be great. Happy Weekend!

Feature: Branch and Twig Chandelier by Jessedirk
I will most likely end up making my own, considering that it costs $525. It's definitely still going to be a huge source of inspiration during the project.
I'll have to find an old chandelier, and I will probably go without the cotton. I might add something else in its place, because I like the spiral line the cotton has.

Feature: Valentine's Day Party
Do you ever see something that just makes you feel all happy and festive?
I love holidays, so this happens to me quite frequently. Today's feature will be a few of my favorite festive Valentine's Day items. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Feature: Love Birds Bowl

I found this sweet personalized bowl at ElmStudiosOnline on Etsy. What a perfect Valentine's Day gift this would be! And even if you don't have time to order on for Valentine's, there's always Mother's Day, Father's Day, or your anniversary.
My usual gripes about personalized stuff are that is looks mass-produced, takes forever, and costs a fortune.
Luckily, this piece is completely different! Because it is handmade, this bowl looks, well, handmade. Also, it only takes 5-10 days for your bowl to be made, and (this is my favorite part) it is only EIGHTEEN dollars!
Here's what Elm Studios says about it: "This adorable clean cut bowl is hand etched with the couples names imprinted above the two love birds and a special date imprinted below. Perfect for any romantic out there to hold rings or any other little treasures."
I am really considering getting one of these cute bowls. Really. I think you should, too.

Feature: MyLovies on Etsy
Today's feature is a shop on Etsy called MyLovies. Mandi creates the kind of jewelry that speaks to me- simple, elegant, and feminine without going over the top. Skeleton key necklaces are one of my favorite new trends. I love that the key on this piece speaks for itself instead of being covered up by a ton of other dangling beads and charms:
I have acquired a recent fascination with lockets as well, and I always love to see filigree This would be a great gift for Valentine's Day with a little love note inside:
I love the way these pearls are clustered. So simple! So elegant!
I love that all these necklaces are long. I am always looking for a good long necklace. Check out MyLovies! As a special promotion, Mandi is offering a deal to my readers:10% off to anyone who mentions the Audzipan Anthology at checkout!
Don't pass this deal up! Here is the shop: MyLovies.

Cherry Branch Stitched Messenger Bag
Yippee! New messenger bags! I have had this idea for a messenger bag for a really long time, and I finally made it! Some of the pillow covers I originally made ended up slightly flawed in the corners, making them unusable for pillows. I didn't know what to do with them right at first, but I held onto them and came up with this. It's hard to see in the photo, but I stitched the fabric onto the bag with fuchsia embroidery floss. With the red-orange fabric, the fuchsia is actually a bit toned down.
So glad to see this project turn out! See the listing here. I also have olive and brown fabric. Email me (audzipan{at}gmail{dot}com) or send me a convo on Etsy to set up a custom listing.
It was a lot of hand-stitching, but I was really pleased with the result. I think that, over time, the fabric will acquire a lovely frayed look as well. What do you think of the new design?

Feature: bohoLUXEAccessories on Etsy
Today's feature is bohoLUXE Accessories, a great new shop on Etsy. Poppy flowers are super hot right now, and it seems like every day you see more and more. The thing that I love about bohoLUXE is that these poppies have a lot of flair and make use of some new materials, like tulle, feathers, and plaids!
And, of course, they have a little touch of bling!
(Click on the photos to go to each individual item's listing.)
Loving plaid right now!
I love the idea of the poppies on a headband, and that olive color is definitely one of the staples of my wardrobe.
I just love the feather and tulle together. That centerpiece really adds the final touch and makes it look so elegant.
The colors of this poppy really make me happy. Brighten up your day just by looking at it!
Here's how they describe their own products:
"Boho Luxe signature look – bohemian, sexy and wrapped up in laidback glamour. The twist is a line of modern démodé design intended to make you feel like a million dollars at a portion of the price."
Now you're talking! That sums it up better than I ever could have described it.

Feature: HandmadebyAnnePotter on Etsy

Today's feature is a shop on Etsy called HandmadebyAnnePotter. I saw these papier mache snowballs and instantly fell in love. What a glorious idea! Never-melting snowballs! This is truly a creative twist on the process of papier mache.
I already love decorating with balls, but to have a bunch of lumpy, sparkly snowballs around that never melt would add such a unique touch to traditional Christmas and winter decor. This is the kind of snow that I can get used to! I was also glad to read that they are fairly child-proof, even if your kids really shouldn't be playing with them.
Other lovely holiday items to check out at Handmade by Anne Potter:
-Naughty Lumps of Coal
-Snowflake Fascinator Headband

Feature: Fight Club Soap from ParadiseBodyShop

I recently purchased a bar of Fight Club novelty soap from Paradise Body Shop on Etsy. What a fun gift this will be! Product and shipping costs were very reasonable, and my order was filled very quickly. Overall, this was a wonderful transaction for me. I can't wait to see the reactions this fun little gift will bring this Christmas.
I also received a sample of their Orange Cranberry soap, and I am seriously tempted to go back and order that one too. Nothing is more fun than a great smelling soap!
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Paradise Body Shop. Give them a visit!
